_______________________________

The home of Jonathan Swift, and his wife Silence, has an origin date of approx. 1795. The home was used as a doctors office around the time of 1817, when Silence died and the house was sold to Dr. Nathaniel Swift. Dr. Nathaniel Swift was married to Sarah Abbott, daughter of Timothy Abbott. It was also used as a post office and printing office after 1820.
It is located one house north of the home built by Dr. Samuel Johnson, at 25 Central Street, and is just south of the Library.
