Jeb Bush- Governor of Florida,  attended Phillips Academy at Andover.

Bill Belichick- Football coach of New England Patriots- attended Phillips Academy at Andover. 

Oliver Wendell Holmes - poet, attended Phillips Academy at Andover.

John F. Kennedy Jr. - Publisher - son of President John F. Kennedy, attended Phillips Academy at Andover.

Samuel Francis Smith - Song Writer, Minister, born in Boston, attended Theological Seminary at Andover, wrote "America" while living in Andover.

Harriet Beecher Stowe- author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin", Husband was a professor at Andover's Theological Seminary underground railroad

Brigadier General Enoch Poor - born in Andover, fought under Washington at Saratoga and Valley Forge, and also under General Lafayette in New Jersey.

GEORGE WASHINGTON SLEPT HERE

President George Washington visited Phillips Academy, eating breakfast at Deacon Isaac Abbot's Tavern on November 3, 1789. During his stay, he was also a guest of Judge Phillips at his mansion, who at the time was the president of the Massachusetts Senate. From Andover he traveled to Lexington, and wrote in his journal of visiting the "spot on which the first blood was spilt in the dispute with Great Britain on the 19th of April, 1775."

MARQUIS De CHASTELLUX visited Andover in 1782/83.He was of Paris, France, and came to America as a Major General with the French Army, and took place in the Yorktown campaign.
