John Farnum &al to Job Marble
To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come- John Farnum and Joahanna his Wife and Richard Barker all of Andover in the County of Essex within his Majesty's Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England and Richard Hall and Mehitable his Wife of Billerica in the County of Middlesex in the Province abovesaid husbandmen.
For and in Consideration of the sum of fourty one pounds ten shillings: of passable Money to them in hand well and truly paid by Job Marble of the Town County and Province aforesaid Mason, the Receipt whereof to full and Satisfaction and Content, they do acknowledge for themselves, and all their Heirs - forever, and so by these presents, acquit and Discharge the said Job Marble and all his Heirs forever, and so by these presents give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Job Marble and to his Heirs and Assigns Two Acres and an half and fifteen Rods of Land and Meadow lying and being in the Township of Andover aforesaid it being part of Capt. Benjamin Stevens intestate Estate which was ordered by the Judge of Probate of Wills for the County of Essex to be set - of to us the Heirs of John and Mary Barker (Ale??) Mary Stevens deceas'd the Pasture Land lying Southerly from Daniel Faulkners house & adjoining to the road Laid out from said Faulkners to Boxford.
bounded or however reputed to be bounded as followeth: Beginning at the Southeast Corner with a Stake and Stones, being the bounds of the Land that was Set out to the family of John Stevens deceased then running Southwesterly by said land about fifty seven Rods to a Stake and Stones by an old fence then running Northwesterly Eight rods to a Stake and Stones then running Northeasterly about fifty five rods to a Stake by Boxford road. then running Southeasterly about twelve rods to the first bounds this being the bounds of the Pastureland formerly in the Possession of Capt. Benjamin Stevens deceased the Meadow being call'd (bal'd?) Meadow lying northwardly from the Widow Stevens's bounded with Stakes at the four Corners lying across said Meadow from East to West being nine rods from Stake to Stake at each End lying Southerly of the division of meadow Set out to the said Stevenses family. these being the bounds of the land and Meadow, and now herein they the said John Farnum and Johanna his Wife. Richard Barker and Richard Hall and Mehetable his Wife have convey'd three fifths of all the land and Meadow within said bounds, with the Proportion of Upland lying within the Meadow fence. belonging to the meadow, and with the proportion of the Meadow fence belonging to said Meadow, and with the one sixth part of the land and Meadow within said Bounds. And the said John & Johanna Farnum hath Sold one sixth of the Land and Meadow within said Bounds, and the said Richard Barker hath sold one sixth part of all the Land and Meadow within said Bounds and the said Richard and Mehetabel Halls hath sold one sixth part of all the Land and Meadow within said Bounds.
So all the Land and Meadow within all the boundaries as above bounded and as above expressed, We the above named Farnums, Barker and Halls. Do warrant to the said Job Marble and to his Heirs and Assigns forever, with all the Privileges and Appurtenances thereto belonging or any ways thereunto appertaining. To Have & to Hold, use occupy possess and Enjoy peaceabley and quietly without let hindrance Suit or Denyal of any person or persons whomsoever Laying any lawful Claim hereto or to any part or parcel thereof.
And we the within named - John Farnum and Johanna my Wife and Richard Barker and Richard Hall and Mehetable my Wife do avouch and warrant the aforegranted bargained Premises to be our own Clear proper Estate, and that we have a god right full power and Lawful Authority for to Alienate and Convey the same land and meadow, as here and on the other side of this paper we have done to the said Job Marble and his Heirs and Assigns, and we do all warrant it all to be free and Clear from all former Gifts Sales Entails Mortgages Dowries or Intanglements or Incumbrances whatsoever - and we have given the said - Marble possession of the Premises in person, and do promise to keep him and his Heirs and Assigns in the peaceable and quite possession of the premises forever
And in Assurance of all afore written on each side of this paper we the aforenamed Farnum, Barker and Halls have bound ourselves, our Heirs Executors, and Administrators unto the aforenamed Job Marble his Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns. In witness whereof we have hereunto set to(?) our hands & Seals the twenty fourth -- 24 day of April in the year of our Lord Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred and thirty two 1732. ---
